Legacy Church: A Kingdom Community

Hello, my name is Mike Henderson, and I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. I have a wonderful and amazing wife and two incredibly blessed children. Recently we moved to Orlando, FL for the sole purpose of planting Legacy Church. Before we get to the rest of that, I want to share a little bit about my testimony. 

I grew up in church my entire childhood. However, I did not personally know God. Due to several factors, as a youth I lived a misguided and troubled life. It was not uncommon for me to be in the midst of dangerous situations as I slowly became a product of the environment I was in. One day in my bedroom, God spoke to me very clearly and made it known to me that He had not created me to live the way I was living. That started the process of me truly learning to surrender my life to Christ. That was the best decision I have ever made. Jesus changed my life, and I know and believe He can and does for others as well. 

My family and I moved to help others come to know Jesus personally as their LORD, Savior, and King. Orlando, FL, has one of the highest percentages of any city in America of people who currently have no church community. 

The reality is, God has not created us to live life in isolation. He has created us for community, and not just any community: His community. Throughout the Scriptures, we see God’s community is His Church (Ephesians 4:15 - 16). The Church played a critical role in my wife’s life and mine. God’s church is on the Earth for His people to experience His love (John 13:35), be equipped for their work in the Earth (Ephesians 4:11-13), and to be a witness to the world that still does not know Him (Acts 1:8). Additionally, it is so important that the next generation is rooted in Godly community so their faith is being strengthened as they mature. 

We planted Legacy Church to see more disciples of Christ worship Jesus, love one another, and make disciples of others. Legacy Church is about living out the kingdom life now. I want to invite you to prayerfully consider joining us on Sunday mornings and to see if this is a kingdom community you can be part of.
